I want to repaint my control panel's lettering and can not figure out how to remove it. I unscrewed the four screws and it will not pull out. Does anyone know the procedure?
Thanks again,
Mark

It helps to loosen the steering column and drop it slightly. Unhook the wires from the switches and wiggle it out. It is sometimes easiest to unscrew the light switch from behind and leave it alone as it is a tight fit through the frame.

Had to fight with mine, too.
I ended up laying, contorted on the floor, flashlight in my mouth and pushing the panel out from the backside.

Loosen the two nuts that hold the steering column in place, lower it as much as the nuts will let you make sure you put a towel over the top of the column by the steering wheel or you will scratch up the paint on the top of the column. Be careful the panels break easily their old and not very flexible. Good luck! Almost forgot have to disconnect the speedo cable or it wont come out.
