I understand you remove the allan screw on the trans-side park mechanism to access the release spring for the cable. Do I need to completely drain the transmission first to remove the cable?
If you don't have a drain plug....Put a pan under the access and open the plug and drain it. Shouldn't be more than a couple quarts. The rest will stay in the pan.
I got it. It wasn't that bad, but a gallon of trans fluid drained from the Allen screw. You better be ready for that. I got some 5/8-5/32 cable glue shrink at Home Depot that worked perfectly. I put a little on the end too. No runs no drips no errors. $5 for shrink vs. $200 cable. Take a look.
