Quality Brake Drums for a 68 Coronet

Got mine at NAPA and box said U.S.A! (this was for a 71 though)

Ok, bone-head moment. I talked to the RamMan about the booster I got from him. I said it would chatter and squeal the first time I pressed it. He asked if the drums were cut down too far and that 0.020" will make a difference and cause too much travel on the peddle. Hence the question about drums. Tonight I adjusted the shoes as they were very loose (it did roll nice though). Still a lot of travel. I decide to look in the master cylinder for no good reason as there was no sign of leaks and I don't have that many miles on the new shoes. Both sides were empty! WTF..... All I can think of is there was still some air pockets in the cylinders when I assembled and bled the brakes this spring and they finally worked their way up to the master cylinder.... Well after adding fluid and the adjustment the brakes are rock solid and work better than they every have......

Centric and everybody on the "aftermarket" all come from the same source --and they are all "Chinesium" -- and you never see any 120 story buildings in
China -- because with that steel, they would be leaning like the leaning tower of Pisa........
I still do have some N.O.S. Front & Rear 10" Brake Drums --- and I DID!!!!!!!!!! have 10" x 2 1/2" N.O.S. (of course!!!!!) Front Hub & Drums up until last year!!!!
I also have N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ Brake Shoes ----- which are as critical as the N.O.S. Brake Drums........
The only problem is that you are in Arizona -- and I am in New York --- shipping will be a bunch ---- you coming my way, for pick up???????

No doubt they can do it the problem is the difference between what is exported and what is used at home

No doubt, in China it's buyer beware. So the buyer is responsible for what they get. NAPA, for example sells rotors and other parts produced in China. They have their own quality control and engineering people. They provide specs and insure their suppliers are meeting the specs. Basically NAPA requires "OE fit form and function" from their suppliers. They don't change suppliers very often. Some sellers buy their parts from whoever is selling at the lowest price this month. They have neither the inclination or capability of monitoring quality. My point is, if someone sells you a POS, it's because they allow their suppliers to sell them ****. The Chinese can provide quality if their customers require it. Keep in mind, iPads, iPhones and in fact most electronics come from China.

Precisely!! Sellers are responsible for the stuff they sell. If sellers allow their suppliers to give them crap, their customers will get crap.
