Factory 318 car, put a 440 in it...went to fill up the radiator and it leaks. :(

Purchased a radiator/fan/shroud from RnD Fabrication out of GA and it didn't fit. So I'm back at square one. The package from RnD was $815 shipped. Looking to spend no more.

The 440 is temporary until the 499" is built so need something that'll cool an aluminum headed pump gas 499" at the drag strip during the summer. Car is a driver though, so idle in traffic is equally important.

Kind of hoping that someone has had success with something universal. Not a show car, just a driver/weekend warrior.

Thanks!

Take your leaking radiator and have it recored with a 3 row high efficient core (more fins per square inch ) i did it in my 67 gtx. Have a 496 stroker zero cooling problems in the middle of summer . 18" 6 blade steel fan and stock shroud.Cost about $450 for the recore good luck

Got a 1962 Polara 500 440 .030 over aluminum heads 93 pump gas 460 hp on dyno
Got a Champion 3 core 22" aluminum good for 550 hp
6 blade factory flex runs 190 all day long $230 in everything.

Could not keep mine cool with shroud & 2-10" fans
I think too much heat under hood needed to push more air thru. engine bay area.

I got an aluminum one through classic industries, no complaints on my 62 with a 440

Yep, brought a car home years ago on a trailer and about 7 boxes...it was a basketcase. Name stuck.
