I am having trouble finding someone local who will re core my original radiator in my 70 RR, 383. Does anyone have a suggestion for aftermarket or should I keep pursuing having this one re done?
Based on the originality or the desire to keep the car as original as possible may make the decision a little easier. The question is does it retain the original radiator or has it already been changed out through the years. Personally, I would look at having the original radiator recored if it is in fact correct for the car. If your more into changing things around on the car and not looking at the correctness aspect, then you can look into the aftermarket units. If you should decide to retain the original, Marietta Radiator on Glover Street have done several radiators for me and the work has been good.
It's the original and I would prefer to have it fixed,I will reach out to Marietta Radiator, the guy I took it to acted like he did not want to bother, so I called two more and they acted some what the same and threw crazy prices out to get me off the phone. ($500).
I had my original radiator restored and triple cored for the 68 GTX - nothing really wrong with it but I wanted the cooling aspect beefed up. It cost me $500. I also wanted to keep the originality of it for,the car.
