They are firmer, short front segment and setup for drag racing. Usually raise the rear over stock.

Naw, I didnt mean it in a bad way. When it comes to suspensions and givine advice there, I try remain 100% correct to the factory way. I look at it much the same as an airplane. If an airplane fails, you DIE. Much the same with suspension and brakes. That's why I am so adament about it.

I've used air shocks since the 60's and have never rip out or cracked the top mount but I generally don't put much air in them....usually a minimum psi and it only takes a few psi to raise the car an inch. I've also used shackles but at the max, no more than 1" longer than stock. Also, I'm usually one to lower my cars a bit and usually don't like the rear sitting up more than 1" higher than the front. After all, more height in the rear vs the front changes the weight bias more to the front....

yea, I have factory correct suspension...I have thought about air shocks so I could put a couple of fat a$$'s in the rear seat.....but prob' will not do it.

The way the pic was taken makes it look higher in the back than it really is, it's only a relatively small amount.

It does depend on what you are trying to do. compensate for sagging springs or to get the look you want. I have seen shackles so long that the shocks are fully extended and the springs are bowed downward YUCK!! I don't like the air shocks I have had- new ones leak air down and I can't find the leak with soapy water.
IMO spring over shocks with adjustable spring clamps would be the cheapest and easyest to install. IF --your upper shock mount is sturdy. I always liked the 'Air lift" heavy rubber bags with mount brackets for leaf springs. You can pre- load the right bag with a non posi rear and make equal traction to both tires. ..................MO

Taller tires.....New/re-arched springs. Cal-Trac's will raise it an inch or so as well.

My '69 GTX suffered the same fate. Back it the 70's we put air shocks on everything, but they were a PITA to keep properly inflated.(Never had a set that didn't leak)

... oh yeah, and the ride is stiff and obnoxious.

Not surprising to hear coyote...... The crossmembers are pretty flimsy to begin with. I agree with you on the ride.......definitely a bit harsh.
