I've had the rear shock mount issue, too.

More of a dull rattle than a metallic jingle of tools.

Ok, got under there and those upper shocks were way too loose. Tightened them down pretty well. We'll see how that goes.

I had a loose upper shock mount making a rattling sound. Tighten up both sides. Good to go.

I assume you checked way down between the trunk drop off and the rear quarters?

I had a weird noise once. Found a golf ball.... LOL

Upper shock mounting. Bolt will seem tight but not enough to pinch the shock bushing.

...you win! Shocks were sloppy up top. Fixed no more rattle.....awesome

Reminds me of an old story back in the day. Supposedly a factory assembler hung a miniature bottle on a string inside the quarter panel. Drove a mechanic nuts until he found it. It had a note rolled up inside that read "How long did it take to find this?" Don't know how true but I wouldn't put it past someone doing this back then.

Worked in the roll shop at a steel mill for a short time and there were times I would stamp the name backwards or turn a letter upside down. Every fresh machined roll got stamped....but most of them were right
