Rear Springs

Guys,

Looking for some advice/experience. I'm wanting to replace my rear springs on my 64 Dodge 330. I've been looking on the Mancini site that appears to have some really good options but which ones ? 3400,3600 or 3800 lbs I don't want the car to sit low on the rear.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed the 3400lbs in my 64 last week. I like it sitting high up as well. Turned out great just remember to buy the hanger extensions

Good excuse to get your car weighed. Go to the local feed/grain store, city dump, local truck stop etc..

i got the Mancini 1 inch shorter front perch mounts, gonna see what the 66 and up Xtera heavy duty springs look like on the car, if i dont like it, gonna go Caltrax

What needs mentioning, is that the 64 Plymouth has a 21 inch front spring segment. 66 up has 22. A body is 20 inches. The hanger extensions are for using 20 inch springs on a car that uses a 22 inch front segment. Call ESPO. their products are great.

guess I should have mentioned I used the SS springs which were the 20” and required extensions

I put the 3400 lb SS springs on my car from Mancini's about 10 years ago. It still sits the same as it sat perfect for my taste. This was last summer and it still sits the same as it has not dropped any. If it would come out wrong you can change the rear height by spacers under rear to lower the car or longer shackles to raise the car some. I have used Mr Gasket shackles before to raise a car an inch or so and they work good. It has about 4 to 6 holes in them and once you decide which hole works you then cut the rest off and they look like stock shackles and don't stick way down looking goofy. Ron

These are the Mr Gasket shackles I had on my car to raise it some before. You can see they look like stock shackles as that's what I wanted and it raised the car about and inch. It had other holes to raise it more but I cut the rest off so they would look normal. Ron

I am using ten year old 3400 ss springs too, just like 383 man, along with slightly longer shackles, and customized front hangers. I found out after i bought the 20" springs and extended hangers that a previous owner had lengthened the wheelbase an inch, and i wanted to keep that , so mods to the extended hangers was neccessary. By the way, my ride weighs 3250-3300, 3500 with me in it, and has been lightened a bit.
I would guess your 64 probably weighs 3400+ without driver, so 3600 would probably be right, but if you want to lift the *** end, go with the 3800. You will probably need longer shocks for either spring.
The pics are so you can see my height, 10.5x28x15 on the centerlines, 10x28x16 on the tt2s. The tens fit much better.
