Can anybody recommend a safe and decent 2 post car lift? There are so many available and I don't know which ones to stay away from. I have heard a lot of horror stories from the imported brands. Are there any safe and reasonably priced American made lifts out there? I am just starting to research lifts and any comments on your experience with lifts would be appreciated. I am also limited to a 10' ceiling and a 13' wide garage bay.
Thanks

The 10 foot ceiling is a pisser. I built a vaulted ceiling in my shop to accommodate the "Challenger" brand 2 post lift.
Think about it: If you are approx. 6 feet tall, you need at least 6 feet of clearance under the car to work on it. With a 10 foot ceiling, that leaves 4 feet. How tall is the car? My guess is that it is at least 4'6" tall. You are pushing it real close!

Ours is a Aimco, nice sturdy, 12000lb... one recommdation that I'm glad we have is the pneumatic lock releases...beer the he'll out of walking around pulling the locks..
