Having lived in the South for my 63 years, my birthday present from the God of all creation is a problem-free RECORD snowfall! The temperature dropped to 15° overnight, after about 12 hours of constant, light snowfall.
After being cooped up in the house, even though they had fenced-in back yard access, my 2 Labs Korben and LeeLoo (from The 5th Element) really had fun running in the yard and SWIMMING in the pool. Temps around 25° when I shot these videos:

And

I have one that likes to run around also, while the other one while the other one walks like she is stepping on elephant poop...

Bio having grown up and lived in snow country, I can see the oddity of what y'all are experiencing down there with this Polar Vortex sweeping that low and blanketing just about the entire eastern 3/4s of the US. And here in NW Reno NV where I reside at 5100 ft, we are sun and sever clear with temps in the high 40s to low 50s so far every day now. No moisture is in the forecast but that can change next month and well into April and even May. So that is a rare high that is hanging over us out here. It gets damn cold at night with a very heavy frost in the AM when I get up maybe in the high teens to low 20s but warms up after say 10 AM. The Sierras have a lot of snow above me to 7000 ft so at least some snowpack for the water levels as earlier storms in the fall did a good dump for that, but we still need a lot more water out here as even now it is very dry. All this weather just reminds me that claiming climate change and BLAZA BLAZA that the sky is falling that people keep screaming out about is a result of one thing and one thing only...Mother Nature Is Always In Charge..Enjoy its beauty as soon it has melted and been gone leaving just a memory to talk about now for years to come...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

That wet "powder" Ugh. Friends love that stuff cause it's fresh... None of them have been to Utah/Colorado where it's nice and dry
Yeah Park City (great nightlife too), Powder Mountain, Snowbird Mt.

Alyeska in Alaska is pure corn-snow, fast & 'cold' & great fluff/powder

It's great powder when it's cold like corn-snow up here above 7,000-7,700 ft 'base'
places like Kirkwood, top is 13k +, otherwise it's got a lot of water content,
lower levels, most the resorts, hence the 'Sierra Cement' comment,
& we need the water, so we can have SoCal steal it... :poke:
Or the powers to be just let it run out to the Pacific Ocean :carrot:
I don't know which is worse...
To protect some nonendangered smelt or freaken' hellgrammite/crustation...
