I recently had my car not start one morning. I wiggled the engine side bulkhead starter relay(fusible link) wire near the bulkhead and got it started. I then read up and realized that the bulkheads have a tendency to get corroded or go bad. My wiring on this car is in good shape and shows no melted wires so I was hoping to just clean it up. How do you remove the engine side bulkhead connector to expose the Packard terminals? It has what look like plastic clips on the top ,bottom and both sides that seem to hold it to the interior side of the bulkhead. Do I just squeeze these clips and pull it apart? I did remove the fuse holder on the interior side and started to remove the 2 screws holing the bulkhead to the firewall but stopped and decided to post here first. All help would be appreciated. Thanks

Carefully lift the outer connectors on each side, be careful not to crack them off. Opposite of squeezing.

Use a small screw driver and pry gently.

Just so I am clear on this! Do I have to remove the two 7/16 nuts on engine side first then lift the connectors and pry? Also, will the male and female packard connectors be accessible from the engine compartment side or will I have to
get to any of them from the interior side? Thanks again guys for the help!

The nuts nacgo metioned is to get the bulk head off the firewall all together those plastic clips you see squeeze ever so nicely and they will come off they will be weak . A new eng harness is only $125 or so last I checked if you brake it not a big loss the big dollar harness is the main dash harness! Good lick

no need for a new engine harness if plugs breaks. Plugs are available in $15 or so each.

Thanks for the tip Nacho! One did break but I think it will still work. Just in case it does not work would you let me know where they are available at?m Thanks again.
