I'm currently running factory power steering & brakes with a vacuum booster pump. After talking with some Mopar guys at the shop they are all telling me to remove everything and that it's not necessary / won't notice a difference because I now have skinnies. Also they are telling my to swap to a wilwood master brake cylinder..... What do you guys think, will I really miss not having power brakes and steering? How much weight will actually be saved? Also what cost is associated with deleting them? ... Still cruise on the street but by no means a daily driver ... Just a street / strip toy

There are lots of opinions on this. I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just curious. My question is: Why?

Less weight, less rotating mass, better braking, clean things up in the engine compartment, no power steering fluid to potentially leak, with skinnies less rubber on the road/ easier to turn wheel

Sure I'll take some measurements and look up the specs for you in the morning. I got a smoking deal on the kit , aerospace was running a racers special and giving 35% off . Literally 17 guys from wise guyz alone got the front disk kits. I did front and rear 4 piston pro street kit with Non slotted rotors, master cylinder , ss brake lines , and master cylinder adapter. I forget the exact price but it was msrp - 35% off with free shipping

Finished the front completely and just pulled apart the rear tonight. Still have to install rear and master cylinder ....ugh honestly don't know why I decided to do so much at once

Looking good ! I'm the same especially when there's new shiny parts sitting around !

I know the feeling, I started off as a heads and cam swap, now I have a 505" being built, 4 link rear, 4 wheel disc, roll bar, new strange s60 with 4:10's, fuel injection, new wheels and tires I'm sure I left plenty out too lol. Domino effect

Yeah, it's crazy how things start to snowball

I called aerospace and they said it doesn't matter if the rear caliper goes behind it in front of the the rear axle. Do you guys have a preference?

My wilwoods are mounted behind the axle

Wow that looks great! I'm gonna do the same, makes sense and will match the front.... Where did you use rtv sealer ? I have sealed bearings but they said use it just to be sure. I'm thinking on the caliper to axle housing bracket ? Or right on the bearing?

I didn't use any, strange s60 came with a foam and paper gasket, plus the wilwood caliper mount acts as a seal. Have you thought about painting the lettering on your calipers, maybe yellow or black to make them stand out a bit? I think that would look good!

I would actually really like too do them black. The only thing is they are engraved instead of cast so it would be difficult

When I tore apart my 8 3/4 with tapered bearings there was rtv all over

Just use a fine tip paint brush, that's what I'm using to paint the engraved lettering on my master cylinder

Stupid question, is this a proportioning valve? Also does it have to come out now since I went from rear drum to disk? Aerospace has a built in proportioning valve in the master cylinder and recommends no others .

Yes that is the proportioning valve, if your kit comes with a new one it is no longer needed.
