I have a 440 Six Pack and put in Promax's 3/8 carb fuel lines and of course it's not a perfect fitment with everything else. Because the flexible fuel lines and all the connectors are bigger, my Firecore distributor vacuum canister hits it and now the distributor can't be time properly. I'm running the Rev-n-nator ignition box and they recommend not running vacuum advance.

Therefore, if I remove the vacuum canister that should solve my problems. Or I can ground on the fuel line connector fittings and get room that way. Any issues removing the vacuum canister?

Rev-n-actor have a removal solution? If they are recommending its removal ask them how. They need to sell you some more parts anyway.

Honestly if it were mine, I would simply move the wires one position(make what is now #8, #1 etc) and reset the distributor accordingly...or move them to whichever position gives you the most room. Just mark the distributor terminals with your new arrangement so you (or someone working on it later) doesn't get things messed up! Much better than grinding stuff/modifying parts/etc but that's just, like, ya know....my opinion, man!

Swapped in my MP dizzy and I have all the clearance I needed. The Firecore dizzy is way taller than the MP and was the problem.

If you remove the vac advance, how do you keep the advance plate in the distributor from moving around from vibration? The arm on the vac adv holds tension on the plate, at least on stock style distributors.

What 3W said. If you pull the can you have to lock the plate it connects to in place. If you're not going to use it, leave it in place disconnected. If you can't fit it, you have to do what your did: get a distributor that fits the space.
