Need to replace the shift indicator lense on the steering column. I've removed the horn ring, steering wheel, turn signal indicator and the three screws the hold the bearing retainer plate and the two screws that hold the bearing housing in place. The bearing housing (part with the lense attached to it) will not pull off. Column is in the car.
Any thoughts??

Have a pic of what you are working with?

It has been a while since I looked at a 69 or 70 column. If you have a 68RT like your name says I would think they are very similar. I could be wrong. The housing separates further and there are two screws holding the lens in place. I am thinking this can be done while the column is in the car with no problems.

Thanks 6packmike, I'm gonna work on it tonight, and see how it goes. If I can't get it off I'll be back on....Thanks for your reply

No problem.

I am not sure if it will help but I have a 70 column apart in my garage. I can post a pic or send you one. Good luck.

Thanks, but I got it together over the weekend. Again, thanks. I do need the orange pointer in the shift lens indicator if you know of any. Thanks again for your help
