I may have an oil pump or oil pick up issue on my 68 Coronet.
Is it possible to change the oil pump on a 440 with the engine in the car?
I would be seriously bummed if I need to pull it.
Thx

Yep, you can change a big block pump with the engine in the car. Mine came out fine, at worst you may have to loosen the motor mount and jack the engine up an inch or so. Others probabaly know more specifically about the 68's but in general- no, no need to pull the engine.

Thanks.
I am hoping it is only a sending unit problem on my new pressure gage but I that is good to know.

Yeah, if I recall correctly I had an oil pump on and off on a late 60's B body. Like HitIt says I think I had to jack up the engine but nothing terrible about the process.

Good news it was not the pump or the sending unit it was the cheap Fram oil filter I was using. The filter had collapsed and/or torn and that's what was causing the oil pressure to very soo much. I am just glad I caught it before the oil flow was totally blocked off and damaged the motor.
