The rear pans overlap over the main floor pans. you will see a seam that runs over the top where the front of the backseat would rest.you will need to remove the old sealer and you will also see "dimples" running across the top. you will need a spot weld drill bit or cutter, flat chisel/hammer. there is also spot welds on each side of the pan. you will also see those spot welds (dimples) where the top of the hump meets the rear pans.I you are planning on replacing the front pans, you can take front/rear out together. Also there are more spot welds where the pans rest on the front of the rear frame rail.Hope this helps and didn't mean to "jump" around.
Once you see how the new rear pans fit together you will also see how they will be overlapped by the hump, then you can see how you can remove the old pans.Keep as much of the hump as you can and then you can trim off the xtra. All the new pans will overlap or be overlaped with the tranny hump.
