i have 275/60r15 rear tires for my 73 roadrunnerwould 8 inch rim with 4inch backspace work with this combination

Will fit but 8” would be around the limit for it. I have 255s (4/5” smaller) on 7” and they are on limit too.

275 okay for 7.5-9.5 rim. So you're good in that sense.
I'd rather see a bit more backspace (4.5?) but you should be okay with the huge wheelwells your runner's got.

My Road runner has a 275-60-15 BFG tire on an 8" Weld rim with a 4.5" back space.

thanks for the info .i have 8 inch rim with 4 1/2 inch backspace now but very close to leaf spring in front about an inch

long time ago I had 255s on factory steel 6” rims and even they still fit, didn’t like completely the look… a little too much “globy”
