1970 Satellite Rims & Tires question

I'm thinking of getting rims & tires for a 1970 Satellite that i am looking into purchasing.

I know the bolt pattern is 5 X4.5 or 5X114.3

But i don't know the offset or hub size that would fit on a factory set up.

What is the biggest size and width i can go? I saw on some of these threads 15 & 16 is somewhat standard

I want a little bigger rim 17-19 and staggered maybe a (17 on the front 18 on the back)
or 18 front and 19 on the back.

I saw this done in another post but i am assuming that there was modification to the suspension.

Also searching...

Acworld34,

Welcome to FBBO. I am interested to see what kind of replys you get, I have posted a similar question in other links and recieved few replies. I can only assume that most guys on here are running 15's as they are quick to reply with what works. Can I suggest you look at Red Stripe's car in the Welcome wagon forum? He has a 69' Charger with 18's on it and he replied to me with the sizes. I know his suspension is slightly modified, but the sizes shouldn't be too far off. Good luck with your search, and if you get any answers could you please post them here? I will do the same.

bolt pattern is 5x4.5 or 5 x 114.3.

biggest wheel and tire to fit on back is 20 x 12 rim with 305/30r20
biggest to fit on front is 20 x 10 275/35r20
with these sizes you can run into a few problems or rubbing etc.

THE SAFEST size for a staggered setup and the best looking IMO is to run:

17 or 18 x8 front with a 245/40r18
and a
18 or 19 x 10 rear with 295/35/19

rear backspace should be 5.6" to be centred
front back space somewhere around the 5"

this setups will clear all factory suspension, no mods needed

heres mine 18 x 8 front 19 x 10 rear, 68 charegr has similiar wheel wells

Still leaning towards the 427's.

The GTX I recently bought has 17x8, 18x9.5 and even though I dont even have the car in my possession yet, I can tell you they aren't aggressive enough for me. I'm going to do a custom wheel from Rushforth wheels (salt shaker) in 18x9, 19x10 with a 265/295 combo.
