Hi-

I have an opportunity to buy an original RR horn for my 1970 RR restoration project. The seller says that this horn came off of his 1974 RR. In looking at the picture, I don't think that is the case, or else someone put a 69-70 (or 71) horn on his 74 RR. Here it is:

I think that the 72+ RR horns were different. However it could have just been a different bracket but the same horn. I dunno, still learning. Any opinions?

Thanks

With that bracket, that does not look like a roadrunner horn for a '69/70 Roadrunner

69-70 horn:

Yeah the difference appears to be in the bracket only. Is that correct?

Thanks

Did 74 RR's have a RR horn? just asking.

Looks like a 1969-1970 horn/bracket to me; that is, it's long and lavender (that's what she said). The bracket just looks to be bent (supposed to be a 90-degree angle).

My 1973 Road Runner has the factory horn and it is the much shorter bracket. 1971-74 should all have the same short horn/bracket combo as it is mounted on the right fender instead of the radiator support.

I say stick it in a vice and bend that bracket back (or get a new bracket), have it cleaned up, buy the Road Runner horn paint and new decal, and stick it on!

Funny that you mention that because I came to the conclusion that this is a 69-70 horn that someone made to fit a 74 RR. Have the resto kit on back order. Cool that someone sells those!
