This is an odd one I know but anybody with any experience with acquiring and or installing rubber or vinyl flooring like was originally in some 1962 Dodge Dart models? Looking for a source and some install experience.

Thank you much!

Jeff

Mine doesn't have driprail molding. It didn't have anything on the floors, so I don't know. It's got carpet now.

Years ago auto custom carpets molded one for a 71 charger for me. Fit good, but only came in black and did not have molded heal pad. Perhaps they can still make them.

How did it fit for you? Install tough? Thank you for reply.

I had a 2 door Rebel with a rubber floor mat..... I tried to save it for the Machine, but I F'd it up on the way out

Good luck. I had a resto shop install one in my 65 cop car. It sucks. I will need to buy another one and try again. ACC makes them. They are very explicit that they must be immediately installed.

Toughest part of install was actually cutting and trimming it as it was pretty thick. I used tin snips and utility knife. I also did it in the summer and let it sit outside for a couple of hours first, fit decent. Heat gun would probably have helped as well. Original was blue, had molded heel pad, all which wasn't available. I believe the original was more rubber like, but just fell apart when I removed it.

I have sold several of them. The originals had a speckle finish where these are only available in black, tan or gray. They are from ACC and are made off of the same molds of the carpet kits.

They layout basically as a carpet kit. They have the jute backing and can be ordered with the mass backing. Just like the carpet kits, remove them as soon as they arrive and layout flat, preferably inside the car. For the final installation, a steamer makes installing carpet easier. For these kits, you may find a heat gun / hair drier at a low setting makes them more pliable. As it warms up and fits to the contour, take a hand towel soaked in a bucket of ice water to quench the mat to adapt to the floor contour. A bit time consuming, but yields good results.

Price wise, they are basically in line with a carpet kit. Shipping is slightly more as the rubber mats are heavier than a carpet kit. Generally these kits are special order through the ACC network, so they are non-returnable.

I put one in my 67 Jeep Gladiator. It fit terrible. And if it doesn't fit no amount of heating , stretching, or swearing will help.
