Run Your Car On Vapors

I saw this on FB - after we talked about it at work a little - we determined that the raw fuel we currently run "cools" our combustion chambers. The vapors would make it run very lean and not provide any cooling. But then I thought - its 2014 - our technology is ridiculous - surely there must be a more efficient way to cool the combustion chambers - so we could run on vapor and get 100 MPG... just thinking...

Some of the original carburetors were basically wicks that capillaried gas from a reservoir chamber into the air stream so I can see this working to a point. However, under heavy load or sudden acceleration this may not work very well. Ideally, the fuel entering a cylinder should be in a vapor state at all times, but with the varying load this may not be possible. Still nice to see people thinking..

And they were thinking like this in the 1920s...

And Vonzy797, trucks running on propane don't have liquid gas cooling the valves...
