Hey guys, Cant contain my excitement. I picked up a RR 383 engine today for the cost of a 3 month old Brahman Bull. The manifolds are on it and got them all loose, got the intake loose. No carb. Oil pan is there. Motor turns over. Im really flyin hi right now..Hope to get it going soon and put in my 67 Coronet. Dave
:hello2::hello2:

Cool beans!! :headbang:

By Chance that motor have a VIN?
Have a 69 RR that was from around that area.

Yea what's the vin i'd swap my superbee engine for #'s matching engine and or trans.

If you guys are talking about the VIN on the car, I'm afraid it is long gone. Got the motor from a neighbor that took it out after the body rusted away. NY winters!! I can post the numbers on the block tomorrow if that's what you want.

yes, that would be great!

I think those are the casting Numbers as described here as also where the vin should be.

BIG BLOCK: Locating the I.D. pad on big blocks is the easiest way to distinguish a "B" engine from an "RB" engine. On "B" engines the I.D. pad is located on the passenger's side of the engine just below the cylinder head next to the distributor base; on "RB" or Hemi engines the I.D. pad is located on top of the block directly in front of the the intake manifold valley pan, next to the distributor base toward the driver's side.

What does it say on the ID pad?
