Seat belt restoration

I sent Bill my two front belts on 11/24/2020 and he said he would do them this winter, (i originally bought a set from him but the buckles started to lightly rust) I checked in a few times but he does not have them done yet. I know he’s super busy and from what I’m told a great guy, hopefully I get them back. Spring is in the air and almost cruise time. Getting nervous.... I just sent him an email for an update.


11:30 am Update....he replied saying they are done and he just forgot to send them. He will send out ASAP per his reply.

Considering the materials needed and the technique to replicate a product acceptable to people in this hobby, I'm not surprised there's only a few known repro sources. They are certainly not just anyone with a sewing machine. I know where you are the MOT inspection may be very strict (at least for newer cars) but in the US much older cars aren't subject to much scrutiny if used for hobby/recreation.
In my job I've studied a lot of safety and fall restraint products and use, 50 year old nylon is not practical for use as a seatbelt. I've never heard of any repro belt (and how about aftermarket? Simpson, Racequip) getting questioned by insurance companies.

My experience was very very similar. Give him a shout again, I found it better to call him than email. Make take a few calls

I’ve been dealing with this issue for the last 2 months with him. Says they shipped 6 times already then nothing ever shows up. Seems to be an ongoing problem with communication and/or not being 100% truthful.
