To late Charlie, they are already bolted on. That would be something that could always be done at a later date if I felt the need for more power I guess.

Before and after pics of the front brakes. I kind of hated to remove the drums because they worked fine, but with the more powerful engine, I think it was a good choice for safety reasons.

And speaking of motors, it is set to be dyno'd on Friday morning. Anxiously looking forward to that.

Spent 3 hours at the machine shop with the motor on the dyno this morning - what a blast. I'm almost ashamed to post the results after seeing the crazy #'s put up by average joe and his Charger lol. But I am happy with the results and it came in right where we wanted. This printout was the final pull of the day and with the Holley 770 Street Avenger. We tuned it with this carb first and then switched it out for a brand new Holley 850 double pumper and tested again. Surprisingly, the 850 only gave 8 hp & 8 ft. lbs. over the 770. Since I had the 770 bought and the choke horn already milled off, I decided to stick with that.
So the lowdown on the motor: 400 block bored .040, 440 Source 451 stroker kit, 440 Source Stealth heads(surfaced and a valve job), Comp XE282 solid cam, 1.5 roller rockers, Edlebrock RPM Performer intake, 6 quart Hemi oil pan, Firecore distributor, orange electronic ignition box, Melling hv pump.

WOW!! Proud daddy moment, huh? With that torque you could get into the 12's towing a trailer.

Couple of shots right before the fun began.

LMAO HT413 . . . Towing a trailer ! ! ! Now that is funny . . . ( smile )

I was going to guess 500hp, that's gotta make you feel good.

LOL, you crack me up. I would be very happy with 12's and just me in the car - no trailer.

Great #'s Joel! That should get you to church on time!

Yeah Will, it should be a tad more fun to drive now.

Is this one fairly close to your build Devin?

that is very good #s Joel, that car will haul butt.

Just what I was looking for Charlie. More power than the Charger, lighter car than the Charger, 3.91's compared to 3.54's in the Charger. I feel better now that it should be capable of getting the best of my wife when she is driving her beloved Charger lol.

Ah I can see it now, husband wife grudge match! Race for pink slips!! Winner keeps all!

Finally got the brake system buttoned up on the bird. The kit I used on my Charger and on this car are from Pirate Jack, which is MBM. I set it up as a manual disc/drum and think it works great. Their part # DBK6272. Wayne aka The Ram Man worked with MBM to make this master cylinder reproduction possible. It is the same as the factory originals were, and haven't been available for a long time. Their part # is MC5621 and is for a disc/drum set up - manual or power. It has a residual valve in the port of the rear brake reservoir, and none for the front circuit. It comes painted black, but I stripped it down and repainted. The last piece to the puzzle is their PV6070MOP proportioning valve, which is a 2 piece unit. This is the only valve needed, with the hold off valve being built into this one. So you don't need the separate block that is sometimes mounted about 12" behind the main prop. valve on the inner frame rail. Here is what the original valve looked like PB260003.jpg

And this is what the new valve is like. I made a small brace to tie the 2 together, but it probably isn't necessary.

Good info to know Joel, thanks for posting. Bookmarked for reference down the road. Nice clean work you did there. Looks slick!

Very nice work; the Eastwood gray is a sharp color. Can you give more detail why there's two prop valves. Is the setup unique to MBM? Thanks.

Thanks for posting your motor specs and numbers. That is an engine I would like in my Road Runner when I eventually build an engine for it. I want nice and streetable with 500+ HP with torque throughout the RPM range. Looks like you nailed the formula! :headbang:

The small one I believe is called the rear brake hold off valve. In Line Tube and The right Stuff also sell it, so I think it can be used on any front disc/rear drum application.

Thanks, the #'s came in a little better than I was expecting - but I'm not complaining. I'm thinking it will be a blast to drive.

Well I guess it depends on what close is (I don't figure I'm over 500hp)? I'm running a smaller cam and iron 452 heads with comparable flow to the Stealths. Seeing those numbers makes me really want to step it up but I have to be careful since I'm installing a six speed. That motor should really wake up the RR.
