Seeking an answer.....lol.

Well Passon came back with a quote for the 4 speed swap. They are right there with Brewers on price. The difference is that Jamie asked a bunch of questions and recommended some stuff.

Trans

That is something I would not do, Get a quote from one place, and send it to someone else to price match, Their both excellent companies, That could come back and haunt you.

I put a 440 out of a wrecked GTX into a 74 Charger with the same 318 /727 combo. I didn't feel like changing the K frame and found some mounts in a junk yard on I think 400 that worked. (this was back in 1988 so things are foggy) I remember the BB 727 trans was really tight against the tunnel and the drive shaft was about an inch back from where it sat in the sb 727. I had to get another radiator because the 318 one didn't keep it cool. had to get another exhaust because it didn't match up of course. Oh yeah I had to modify the oil pan a little.

I did not include the pricing.

Check twice, 440 engine cranks, generally aren't drilled for a stick unless HP, or a stick in the beginning. and I don't believe any cast crank types ever were.

IIRC water pump exit on big blocks is dependent on if they came with A/C, that also then affects lower rad hose.

Most LA small block (I know you have a poly) with A/C and big block with A/C have the opposite relative rad hose configuration :(

The big blocks all had the driver side water pump outlet until about 73/74 regardless of A/C or not. The outlet was changed to make room for the smog/air pump on that side below the P/S pump.
Either side works. The goal though is to make sure that the radiator nipples are not in a direct line from each other. They need offset so the coolant has to cross the radiator somewhat to actually shed the heat.

Most times, you will NOT find a 727 behind a 318. Regardless, there is plenty of room in the trans tunnel around a 727 in a B body unless the engine& trans are installed too far to the rear. The 73-74 b body cars did use a different K member for the 318/360 versus 400 and 440.
