Graveyard Carz

I'll probably watch it again, but i do agree, it looked like i was watching an episode of Orange County Choppers fo a while. We need a camera man who isn't shooting NYPD Blue. Keep it still so us old guys can see the details! Ha! Glad the guy with the Bee was realistic with the price, but their comments about being in "Appalatia" were kind of off-color. Make the show like no other on T.V., and you'll have a hit. Good luck!

so G-PA wrote back,,,,,,amazing...and i dont think that show warranted any " due respect "....lol....thanx for posting his numbers...im sure hell get alot of calls from B BODIES ONLY !

i actually watched it again about 2 hours ago....and my mind hasnt changed any

Dude seriously... how could you watch that episode again??? Good god man! :angryfire: just thinking about it is too much for me!

Lol@ "G-Pa"...!

i don't get it either, but it doesn't sound like i missed anything...

so.... being the opinionated moronic idiot that i am....i TRIED to give it another chance..... but that obviously didnt work.....it still sucked...LMAO .!:hello2: but i did try.....it wasnt easy.......lol:sideways tongue:

So true, but check this out- I was so appalled by this show, I emailed the producer to give my feedback. I was really surprised at the nice response and also it was sent directly from Mark (the main dick), especially after I was so vocal about how lame he specifically is. I was sort of impressed and held out hope that it could be good later in the season.

HI Jeff,

Thank you for your input, honestly, I appreciate that you relayed your feelings in a nice manner. Please give it the 6 episodes it's running on Velocity then get back with me with input. I made the show myself, no outside help. I've never had help from anyone in the industry, I'm a restoration guy who had a dream. I focused the first three episodes on character development and the last three are much more in tune with how the show will be...only better I promise.

Have a great day!

With all due respect: Thumbs down!

Watched it last night. It's really cool that this is all about original Mopar restoration... not another one of those overhaulin' aftermarket shows.

Unfortunately to me it looks like another car show where drama takes place over the actual restoration & work put into the cars. In last night's opening episode it was all about the owner's hard-to-stomach personality & weird sense of humor, his granddaughter, and the remaining 10 minutes filled with mopars ...which was basically all about a guy losing a minor part and installing some heater hoses. Oh yeah, and the owner calling around to people looking for a panther pink car, and sorta being a dick about it. I was literally agitated while watching the show, mostly bu the owner's personality and ongoing, horrible dry comedy routine.

Do you guys watch American Restoration? That show used to be pretty good because they would show the steps of how the items are restored start to finish. Now it's about anything to do with the 'stars' of the show with a little bit about before and after of the restored pieces. I stopped watching that one.

Check out Muscle Car on Spike, or even the way Overhaulin' is done. Both are fun to watch and interesting to real car guys. Graveyard Cars is for god knows who.

I do hope it gets better, because I was really looking forward to this one!

But for the moment, barf!

that's too funny, you crushed that guy pretty hard. Seems like he took it as good as he dishes it out though. I have to agree though. So paint got on the tip of a screw driver. BFD! And maybe im a little old fashioned for the ripe old age of 37, but shouldnt the marriage come before the baby?
But, the clincher for me was the super bee. That looked totally staged. Yeah FM3 super bee just sitting in the middle of backwoods Oregon under a tree. Seriously, did that car look like it spent more than a day in its life under a tree. No fender tag, then all of a sudden there it is. It was obviously taken off to make the shot. I understand to make a show appealing to the mindless drones out there you need to "create" drama, but if that guy claims to be such a purist, he should make a real show about real life in the car community for real car people.

I sent him an e-mail last night and asked him not to make a joke of people that collect or care for MOPARs. We are forced to live in the Super Chevy World of the media, and to actually get a car show about MOPARs, and then have it turn out like that is a waste of time for all concerned and a slap in the face.

I did notice this "concept" of his has been around for almost 2 years by doing a search on Youtube. It seems to be all about hype. There is a talk/exchange video where the only ones that write to him are women. You'll have to see for yourselves.

That's the truth! And who wants one of those cars that was slapped together at all costs to make some deadline?

What The Hell Is It With Putting All These Restoration/Overhaulin' Guys Under A Time Constraint? One Show That Absolutely Drives Me Nuts Is That Awlful Desert Valley Auto Parts And That Crazy Old Man Telling His Guys He Needs The Car In Two Weeks. They Turn Out Junk In the End And Then The Old Man Gets Wacked Out Because He Isn't Makin' A Profit On His "Cars.":icon_fU:

It was the typical G-Pa "proud to be a grandparent" deal, I don't hold that against him, but it's way too much of it, for a new series that is promoting, Mopar's, his shop/talent, knowledge &/or the overall business/hobby... My opinion, He's just another condescending, **** purest squirrel, listen to his attitude on the phone, when looking for a Panther Pink or Melon Rouge' Car, that crap all ready gives the "Mopar community" a bad reputation to begin with, don't need more of it, he thinks he's/they are all, "be all, know it all" Mopar restoration experts, just parts replacers so far, in my mind... I will give it another chance, seems like the guy has some decent knowledge, maybe after all the set-up of the characters BS story line, maybe they will actually talk about some of the cool Mopar's in the shop, then maybe even show some of the supposedly "quality workmanship they do", when they aren't, wasting all day put-sing around, it makes you wonder how much those customers were charged for that crap they did on those cars, 8-hr day only 1/2-hr of work between 3-5 employees/people... I would like to have the Panther Pink 70 Super Bee... My review for the 1st episode is, a disappointing "2 thumbs down"

One more word on this and I'll go to my room.

A guy that restores MOPARs should have a parts room of extra parts for his clients cars. I looked in my parts box for 10 minutes and found 2 pivot pins, and I hadn't seen them in 25 years. All that drama over a pivot pin? And then...he sets a car on fire to get one? LOL!!!!

Worman: "I know I got a screw around here someplace." :headbang:

I think this 1st episode was filmed like almost 2 yrs ago! I've spoken with Mark about 1 yr ago, he told me that the TV people wanted MORE drama. I think his main money maker is his body shop business. I'm staying with it, it was entertaining, and for it to basically be his original show with little edit from what he put out 1+ yr ago is pretty telling...meaning the TV crew people liked what he (Mark) made on his own; this 1st few episodes made a while ago.

At least it's about MOPARS...

I just finally got around to watching the show last night and Donny is 100% correct. What you saw in the first episode was a mix of the footage that is quite old. All that footage was shot prior to being picked up by the network and was fully available on the Internet before they got picked up. I further suspect this will be the case for the next 1-3 episodes as well. What they are doing is providing context for what you will see going forward as far as car progressions. I suspect they felt like they had to provide context or some of what you will see going forward would just not make a lot of sense. Every story has a beginning, middle and end. And without providing this context there would have been no beginning. In fact, the plum crazy roadrunner was fully completed and delivered to the customer long before they got picked up by the network.

So I believe initially you will see a lot of what some of you mentioned. That is... all of a sudden these long time consuming projects will just seem to get done overnight. That will definetly be the case with the roadrunner and probably the green charger as it too was getting close to delivery when they stopped shooting their own footage and the network took over.
I further believe what Donny had mentioned about the drama. Like it or not....and I am sure most of you don't...there is going to be drama. The networks do this kinda crap for a living and there is no way on God's green earth they are going to make a show about just a ground up car restoration. As much as it would appeal to a very small percentage of people...their job is to put something on the air with slightly broader appeal to enlarge the audience and attract sponsors which equals more money. Having a tech program exclusively would put so many people off that it would never attract enough high paying sponsors to justify the air time. Remember...like it or not...they are a business. That said....I could do without the drama as well... But I look at it like this. If I want to see old Mopar muscle on TV....short of a few auctions which you have to suffer through endless Corvette and Camaro to see the occassional token Mopar there is no place else to go.

Mark's response about give it a few weeks before you give up on it is probably a good idea. Remember... everything you saw in that first episode...and probably for the next 3 weeks was NOT professionally done. Once the context portion of the show has been layed out... and the professionals at the network are involved I think you will see a much improved product.

Just my 2 cents.
