Should I ditch the A833

I have his gear set but haven't run it yet but it did go together nicely. If you have a big bearing case you are good to go.

so am i going to need a case that started life as an 18 spline or can i use a generic 23 spline case?
 
like most everyone else has stated they live fine on the street. i've recycled a few in my dart, but its always been at the track when they've broke.

18 spline cases from 68 on are all 308 bearing, so likely if you find a 308 bearing case it was originally an 18 spline. You can run the 18 spline gears in a 307 bearing case (23 spline case) and probably get away with it just fine. There is a max ball 307 bearing available and I suppose you can just use those to make up for some of the lost dynamic load rating of the 308 bearing.
