[BLK 68 R/T]

Me.

Initial stages of car back in 2013.

How it looks currently.

My wife and I have 3 boys, BLK is the first initial of each of their names. Also, it just happens to be the abbreviation for black, which is the colour of my car.

I didn't get clever with the screen name. Funny I don't have many pictures of myself.
The picture working on the car is from 2013 snapped of an exhaust manifold stud getting the car ready for Carlisle.
At the time of the picture:
We had nicked the main brake line while making a patch on the rocker.
The driveshaft was out to get balanced.
And the exhaust was apart to paint the pipes.
This was about 2 weeks before Carlisle that year.

Don't remember why I had the center grille out? Must have been doing something with the headlight motors. I only pulled the drivers side head, my friend was running an engine shop at the time and he got the broken stud out for me. I had to order a head gasket, valley pan and valve cover gaskets. We blasted the exhaust manifolds along with the intake and painted them, ran a new brake line and reinstalled the driveshaft. We did a quick compression test after I assembled the engine (cold) and the numbers looked pretty good 145 -150 psi except for one cylinder that had some coolant leak into it so I discounted that one.
I'd never really put the car in a "Show" before so I really wanted it to look it's best. I rubbed out the paint, waxed it and buffed all the stainless trim. I put it together, ran it in the barn about 5 minutes and changed the oil. Drove it 10 miles to get gas and took it Carlisle. I did need to stop once to tighten the valve covers a little, otherwise no problems it ran like a top. But I was pretty tired.

Me, after 4 weeks in the hospital this past summer. Shaved it about an hour after a couple pics. I've only had a full beard twice, in 62 years. Neither time for more than 5-6 weeks......and 35 years apart.

My name is John. Here’s me and the wife last weekend at the company Christmas party themed “The Roaring 20’s” We had a blast.

We’ve lived in Montana for over 26 years, thus my screen name: Montana Mopar

Here’s my latest project car, a 69 Plymouth RR, all the parts are there, and even ¾’s of the build sheet!

Here’s my 67 Dodge Coronet 500

Here’s the wife back in 1969 with the Coronet, when I first got the car… Not really, just made the picture look old in Photoshop.

Here’s a wall of 440 power: 5 – 440’s, the orange one is in the Coronet, and the baby @ 565TQ & 545HP

I didn’t do much with the cars this year, I screwed around and built a new Mopar shop: steel 30’ x 60’, working the interior walls now, painting, & building a bench. Going to add a 2 post lift in the middle bay, and put the 69 RR on an auto twirler early next spring.

I truly have been blessed with a good wife, good friends, and MOPARS!
