Whats going on My fellow Moparians? I am restoring a 69 Dart GT convertible (Restomod). I know Iknow A Body... I am currently driving a 70 Super Bee 440/4speed if that helps. Anyhow the rear quarters that were installed on the Dart Years ago did not come with the side marker light cut outs. In 69 the marker lights were merely reflectors, so I am thinking just fill in the cut outs on the front fenders and roll with it for a clean look. Thoughts??? any and all comments appreciated!

Up to you..Easy enough to patch and smooth over. Personally I like the side marker lights on my '68 a lot better than the reflectors on my '69, but both add some extra flare to the car IMO. Good luck whatever route you go.

yeah the little round 68 Marker lights are classy, 69 they started to getting too big

Thanks for the comments so far guys! I think Im gonna weld up the front fenders and go with the smooth look! Both the Darts tallhair posted look good! After sleeping on it, not trying to take the easy way out, but there is no reason to cut and weld and warp the rear quarters. I will weld plates in the front marker light cut outs on the fenders very slowly by tac welding all the way and then grind all the welds clean...and of course a lot more body work after that!
As for the POLL not sure how to start one. Im still learning how to navigate the site!

MOPAR or NO CAR!!

MOPAR or NO CAR!!

Glad to help

P.S.

The poll is really pretty easy ... just go advanced on your post and scroll to the bottom and select your poll options like, how many days to keep it up, how many poll answers you are interested in .. you type out poll questions like:

A. No side markers for my car ala pre-68
B. 68 Side Markers are the best of ALL TIME
C. 69-70 Side Markers are still cool,
D. 71 Side Markers were also pretty damn righteous,
E. 72 and later side markers were just a bad idea (FU GOVM'T), etc.

I wanted to make the side markers functional on my 69 GTX. There is a kit to do it but it's $300. :angryfire:
