Urethane. I like single stage over base clear. The last stuff I used was U-Tech made by AkzoNobel and I really liked it.

metallic colors require a clean, even application...... it's a bit of a lost art, as you can't really "work" it after the fact

Do you know, will they go through a gas mask like this?Any catalyzed paint is bad for you, isocyantes. Goes right through any respirator, that's why a fresh air suit is recommended.
Is it a special paint for engines? Brand name ?We even use urethene car paint on engines. Stand up to everything. I have engines painted over 20 years ago that look better than new. Obiviously use it on car bodies as well. tis engine painted in 2003. Car the same year.
