Lets say youre building a 500+ cubic inch stroker motor from a 440, but youre keeping your car pretty authentic in the overall scheme of things, would it hurt the power of the motor too much to do a six pack setup? or would it be comparable with that six pack look still?

I say if you have the time and patience, get the 6-pack. There's a little more effort involved in tuning 3-2 barrel carbs but any capable mopar mechanic will know how. I must have called 10-12 shops before I found a guy who I could tell was capable and not full of ****.

I've seen many 440 6-packs run in the 11's, none bored to 500 ci.

I have a 440 6-pack, bored 40 over with a mild cam. If memory serves me correctly, torque peaked somewhere around 545 lb/ft and a tad over 500 hp (510 I think). The torque curve on these setups is phenomenally flat too. I've never tracked it though. My hands shake everytime i'm done driving it, so I'm not entirely comfortable on the track. Not sure if its the gas fumes or because I know at any minute this car can break loose and end up in a tree.

Plus, there's no doubt you have a 440 6-pack when you have the lift off hood.

What do you plan on putting this in?

my 68 coronet. was planning on stroking out the motor but was debating the intake setup. when its so easy to get 500 cubes these days, why not? i definitely have the time for it and nothing quite beats it.

:headbang: Like the attitude

Got any pictures of the car? My local parts guy owned a coronet R/T. I can tell he regrets having gotten rid of it

I'm doing the exact same thing right now. 500ci stroker with a Six Pack on it. The motor was just painted yesterday, and I'm taking the valve covers over tonight so we can prime the oiling system.

My more carb intelligent friends are deliberating right now on how to tune the Six Pack for the bigger inches and how to get the secondaries to contribute more while normal cruising so that we can jet down on the primary and not burn so much gas. Not sure I follow, but they haven't steered me wrong yet. I was thinking of running different springs in the secondaries, like one purple and a soft yellow or some combo like that so that the increased fuel is sorta progressive as the hammer drops. (if this makes any sense). Or get the adjustable metering plates for the secondaries.

I like beer, so my vote is for the two four!:VB toast::VB toast::icon_jook::sixpack::beerchug:

fell in love with it. my grandfather and i talked about it, but once i saw it i knew for sure, altho i already knew even when we just talked about it. he offered it to someone else but said if i wanted it hed sell it to me instead. making payments :happy11:

I put a dual quad on my 440 and it runs very strong. I bought the set-up from Mancini Racing.

with the dual quad id prolly be running close to the same cfm out of the carbs, but that six pack look is priceless!
