I currently have a 4 barrel on my 70 Charger and I am piecing together a 6 pack setup so i can swap to it easily when i am ready. i have ALMOST everything, just need a couple of parts and springs on the throttle cable linkage.

i have seen the linkage with the kickdown linkage for an automatic transmission, but looking for pictures and or a diagram for the linkage and springs setup for a manual transmission.

THanks in advance.

For a stick, I think all you need is a throttle cable and bracket.
That's all I have on my 6bbl/727..... but I've got a rmvb.

6 pack had a fast idle solinoid from the factory also
I am still putting my car together but it is running and moving on the engine and have not had any troubles with out one

right, so you don't have kickdown linkage.

can you snap a picture?

That’s just an emissions thing. I’ve had my ‘Cuda and Charger since ‘83 and ‘85 respectfully, and never had it on either one. The idea was to set the idle speed to 1000RPM to pass the federal test. The solenoid was always charged with the ignition on. When you shut the car off it would allow it to drop to prevent run on. I always set mine at about 750-800RPM so not to choppy with the healthier cams I have. The OEM resto guys like it I guess.

Hopefully, someone else will chime in here, it's not a fast idle solenoid, it's an idle/shut off solenoid. You should be able to live without it, I do. Otherwise, looks like the OP needs a return spring and bracket, air filter and studs and can't see the choke side and fuel lines. Of course, this is only the beginning for getting it tuned!

im not worried about the shut-off solenoid right now or at all.

choke plunger heater is intact but i assume that's hooked to the coil or another keyed power source?

It has an exhaust crossover, and heats the bimetal spring. I blocked mine to gain a few HP and installed a manual choke. Mine don’t have an electric connection.

The outboard carbs have an idle circuit as well. They have lead plugs in them. From the factory they are set lean. The old DC manual suggested backing them off a quarter turn for better off idle response. It works.

It is a fast idle solenoid. Just not on a bimetal spring or a timer. It’s always activated with ignition on. It was just to get the package ti pass federal emissions.

The stud that the throttle cable hooks to is for automatic transmissions. Do you have a short manual trans stud?
Mike

also, my fuel line setup will need to be modified as you can see in my 4 barrel pick, my fuel comes in from the firewall and ill need to modify the standard fuel hardlines to come from the rear of the manifold.

i have the same one that Dave69 shows in his picture.

On the car, hooked up as original, running and driving.
