What should I use looking for something that works with metal and fiberglass. I was told I have to use to different types. I was told that ezgrip does a good job on metal. What's your favorite go to skim coating. Thanks for the input

Good with metal and fiberglass or something different for fiberglass. Thanks for your help

99% of the time i'm glazing over epoxy...... evercoat, U-pol dolphin glaze, I currently have NAPA (cant think of the exact name).......read labels, they all work and sand easily..... most are "direct to metal" also....... fiberglass shouldn't be an issue

The Evercoat products, Feather Fill, Slick Sand, G2, are technically spray bondo. Polyester liquid.
If you read the container, it explains how the product seals the substrate so you won't have
anything come through and screw up the topcoats. Each product is just a little different, but
close. Slick Sand cuts about the easiest.

X2 on uphol.dolphin glaze that eldubb mentioned. Pin hole free , blocks excellent with 320/400.
We use slick sand also, very nice primer filler.

you don't need different kinds for metal and fiberglass. .....

Not sure why but some people try to make body work the most complicated thing in the world. When it just isn't . Epoxy, primer , filler ,top coats its pretty simple . Don't over think it . When in doubt check the TDS .

Now metal finishing and metal shaping , that is a true art and years of experience if you ask me .
