I just uploaded the Video of the startup but its so freakin boring.Dont even think its worth putting on youtube.
The 588 started right up with no glitches. It was effortless. 78 PSI Oil pressure 6 psi fuel pressure and 5 inches of vacuum at idle.

Looks like I'll be racing the 65 Blue Dodge on the 17th.
Going testing next saturday or sunday. Whichever day is nicer. You ready to race?

Ok SSR I have a question. What is the other fuel line for on your carbs? I know it is for fuel! I just have never seen 2 lines on that style of carb before. That thing must be one thristy MF.

One more thing. Stop with all the pics. It makes me totally jealous. You have to many nice/fast cars. You wouldn't be interested in selling the 63 White Plymouth would you?

SSR on your Blue Dodge what tire/wheel size are you running, and does it have standard wheel wells? I like that look.

That's a badarse beast, bet that would speed up my 69 in the 1/4.

Those are dual feed carter carbs. I tapped the other side for more fuel. Made it dual inlets because I run out of fuel in the non tapped side of the bowls. With this kind of HP , I found I was sucking the one bowl dry and leaning out one side of the motor.
Now I can run 6 psi and all banks are evenly fed the right amount of fuel.

15 x 3.5 fronts with 27.7 tires thats with the draglites.
15 x 10 with 6.5 backspace on rear 31 x 10.5W M/T's
Its slightly mini tubbed with ladder bars. THeres very little room under the rears.

The Weld aluma stars are 15 x 3.5 with Goodyear 26" tall tires which I do not like. Putting the 26" on my 65 Plymouth.

Thanks SSR with your help on this subject(and with all the other issues too)!

Never thought of the left bank running low on fuel. That makes total sense.

I'll be ready for the 17th, and maybe before that

my mistake, vacuum is 3 inches at idle.
just installed a new vacuum gauge under the dash.

How do you like that reverse flow water pump? Does it come into the engine from a single outlet from the lower radiator connection the up to the water pump "inlet" connection?

I really like it alot. Reverse flow cools heads 1st. Got the 2 lines coming from opposite ends of the top part of the radiator. I don't like it that way. Asked my engine builder why he did it like that. I wanted the top 2 lines to enter on the passenger side top on 1 side. He says it will be fine this way.
I ran it this way for 2 seasons with no problems and it runs very cool.

heres my 65 dodge black one with both reverse flow lines on 1 side. havent tried it this way but i would think this might be a better way.
