So I think I'm finished.

That looks fantastic!

I did my own body work and paint also. So long ago that it needs redone now.

It's no where near perfect, but I know exactly what the car is, and I can claim every flaw and mistake as my own.

Yeah, race cars rule!

Looks great to me:thumbsup:

I've probably painted a dozens cars and am never completely happy with the results. The one thing I've learned is those blemishes that your eye is so trained to look at eventually fade in memory, before long your eye will quit looking for them lol.

Pat yourself on the back. Great job considering you have limited working space, not a million dollar shop.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks great in all the photos too

congrats that's something many couldn't
& wouldn't even attempt

you did great

I can't wait to see the first NODRAMA race video

I think I forget how to drive.
Thank you.

A lot of time went into this. I think it turned out ok.
It was my first attempt at bodywork and painting.
Before people see it in person, I have already realized mistakes that I've made.
I'm pretty sure tha I can still correct them if I chose to down the road.
I appreciate the time people gave me here to send me in the right direction.
I'll post up some progress pictures later.
Thanks for all the advice.
It kept me motivated through the 2+ months of sanding after work.

Looks great Want to do a Belvedere? Lol

Mostly people will look at that car and ask you to paint theirs. The ones that find flaws are either professional custom paint and body men or (more likely) people who pay them 10k for a paintjob.
I'm betting you hear a lot more "that looks amazing" than "you should have ...."
My motto on my paint work is "it don't look too bad if you don't look too close".
Well done.
Bernie

I'm not being hard on myself.
Just realistic.
Looks great Bob!
I too was a first timer at the whole paint and body thing on a complete car. Think I did ok until I got it on a rack and see things I missed, but I went in expecting a few things here and there.
I think we, as hobbyist, are our own wort critics, as we see the flaws others often don't due to the intimacy we have with our vehicles.
Again great job!

Bobtile, you did terrific. Be proud. But here’s my sign you can borrow when the need arises. .

Thanks everyone.
I think I need more buffing on the car.
I see some areas that need work with different lighting situations.
Its really tough to see everything when you first finish.
Maybe in the spring I'll give it a once over .

Bob: Years ago, I was fortunate enough to have a "mentor" that convinced/coerced me into painting my car. It was worth all the time and effort that I spent. Every time you look at your car, you can feel a glow of pride, and have an "Erkel" thought: "Did I DO THAT?!?" LOL!!

Looks awesome! So where exactly are these flaws you are referring to so other's may learn from them?

I've tried to touch up our old regular cars a few times and have learned that paint/body is not my strong suit, to say the least. I am at the paint/body stage of my RoadRunner right now and am trying to decide if I want to take a stab at it myself (probably not a wise idea) due to lack of funds thanks to Covid paycuts and loss of bonu$e$.
