I'm looking for a place in Michigan to get a block sonic checked. Any recommendations?

The machines are cheap (At least the Chinese E Bay ones) and
work decently. Probably cheaper than having a shop do a single check.
You are welcome to PM me the results and i will analyse then for you if
you would like.

Thanks, I may take you up on that....time to go shopping I guess.

I bought a $139 sonic tester off Amazon, tested it on several different metals, made a custom calibration for cast iron, rounded the sensor head slightly to fit flatter on a round surface, and I found it to be very accurate.

Have you tried Auto Parts Machine Shop in Ann Arbor? Darryl is the owner, and a Mopar guy, I believe they have the capability to do that. He is my machine shop for all my rebuilds, and everyone else I know as well.

Thanks for posting this one. Always appreciate finding out good shops are still around.
