SOX and MARTIN clinic photos - Info or photos wanted Please

allegdly his org. car at the Nebraska Reunion

67 GTX Hemi Sox & Martin original car #1 @ Nebraska Reunion.jpg

Anyone here around back then remember any details.

Specifically the 1967 Models

Im trying to figure out, / gather pictures of the 1967 GTX with white interior.
Was it a race car , ever?
Were there actually 2 cars with white interior , with one of them being strickly a promotional / photo op car
Were there 4 cars total OR just the 3 with timeline creating the illusion of my Promo car theory?
Im told NONE of them was actually a 67 GTX.
And The white interior care car started life as a 383 Belvedere
Of the 2 cars with black interior , Only one was actually an RO car, the 2nd was just a modified Belvedere made up to look like an RO car

You may look at SuperCar Collectibles Site For More pics , they were the official Mopar
Selected build , I would think the livery on the car would be period accurate……
Sox & Martin were a class act !!
I met them at Oswego Illinois dragstrip
Match racing Grumpy Jenkins ……
Back in the 70’s …. Those were the days !
Best Wishes

Only issue for me, Is the SS/B car was hemi and 4spd, black interior

The car I'm trying to replicate was 440,4spd and eventually ran in SS/E class

Also, It my understanding of the 3 back then. Only one of the 67s still exists.
Now big question is. Is it the RO car which per my research was driven primarily by hired shoes ( aka herb McCandless, Dave Strickler and maybe others)

OR. is it the car that Ronnie was primary driver which was a simple made up Belvedere , hemi 4spd ( unknown as to what it was originally powerplant wise )
Both said cars were black interior, bench seat , hemi 4spds

The car Im trying to replicate in scale is the 440 4spd white interior car
Which Im told via a few different sources , started life as a 383 4spd Belv, made to replicate a GTX
As to which car was 1st.? No one knows

Interior is done and installed in the body for the final push to the end
Scratch build head rests. Correct shifter. Photo etch seat belts.

SuperCar Collectibles or Hwy.61 also did a 1/18 die cast model of the 440 Sox and Martin car. I have seen it a couple of times in local model collection auctions, but it went for more $$$ than I wanted to pay. I have the Hemi one in my collection. Also have the '65 AWB car, which my 2 co-workers bought me for my retirement gift. I guess they heard some of my jabbering, after all!

Both Mike and Herb McCandless are very accessible. Lookup McCandless Collection or if you're near Pennsylvania, go to the Carlisle show. Herb will talk your ear off...
