Hey guys, when driving my car the speedo will be about 40-60 mph over the speed that I am really going and when accelerating it will be clicking. I'm planning on replacing the speedo gear and I am wondering what one will be the best for me. Classic industries has a bunch of different teeth options, 33,32,36,40,42.... and so on, what would speedo gear would an original 383 roadrunner have?

You would need to know your tire diameter and your rear axle ratio to get it correct. If you google mopar speedo gear you will see what people have posted in charts that cross the different ratios and tire sizes.

The clicking symptom you describe sounds like an issue with the cable or the unit itself. The gear in your transmission would have to be waaaaaay off to get a 40-60 mph difference. I'd look at the cable first before buying a new gear.

Not the gear. Your speedo cluster is toast with the plastic teeth on the gear reduction, the cable sets into.
