Been trying to calibrate my speedometer and have it where it reads pretty close now. Problem I am hitting is the needle hangs up sometimes on deceleration because of how far I had to back the return spring off to get the needle accurate. The magnets have gotten weak over time I guess.

One idea I have is to somehow try and add magnets to make it stronger so I can put more tension on the return spring. Concerned they may fly off though. Another idea is to decrease the speedo gear at the tranny, again so I can add more tension on the return spring at the speedo. My current speedo gear at the tranny is correct for the tires, backend gears.

Any ever tackled this? Thoughts on best/easiest way??

The instrument mechanism in dodges were weak.. plus if you accelerate rapidly will make it bounce and it seems you're is too tight... I would leave it alone and it should wear in but it is sensitive at the dash.... the trans gear should be smooth and the cable can be Lubes off the car with a small funnel stretched out dangling over a cup..
