On my 1965 Plymouth Satellite, the part the speedometer cable plugs into the speedometer is worn out. I don't know what the part is called or the part number. It's what makes the needle move. I tested the speedometer cable with a drill gun and it's not the cable. I have an older speedometer from a push button transmission. I'm wondering if that would work. Before I start tearing into it, I thought that I'd ask the experts. Thanks for your help.

I’m not positive the speedos are the same but I would think so. Since it sounds like you have the cable out of the car, can you thread it into the other speedo and test it first?

Thanks for your reply. Actually, my car is at a transmission shop for repair. They tested the speedometer cable. I try that test when I get it back. Thanks
