I did a search, nothing came up on the topic so here goes....

1970 Super Bee 383 4 speed (All original components except clutch of course) Every time you push on the pedal there is a loud audible squeak. It seems to be out in the engine bay. I have lubed all the pivot points from pedal to fork with no luck. We are about to pull the 4 speed out and overhaul it for the channel. I was reaching out to you guys who have done this...

1) Is there wear parts to change in the linkage?

2) Preferred 4 speed parts? (I was looking at the kit from Brewer's)
http://www.brewersperformance.com/proddetail.php?prod=RBK06

3) Clutch brand input? I always used SPEC clutches on our Mustang's. (Worked perfect)

My plan it to pull the trans, clutch, and flywheel. Rebuild the trans. Have the flywheel turned (if it passes inspection, otherwise replace). Address linkage noise, install new diaphragm style clutch kit, and have the drive shaft balanced with new U-joints.

Missing anything?

Have you lubed/inspected the plastic bushings on the ends of the Z bar?

Rebuilt my trans this last summer, with a kit from brewers. Make sure you know the right part numbers as the input shaft bearing (301 & 307) come in different sizes based upon certain transmission years.

On that note, brewers says not to use RTV on the gaskets for the input shaft bearing retaining housing. I didn't and it leaked, replaced with new gasket & RTV and it hasn't leaked yet. Great kit, it's super simple to work on an A833, good luck bud.

Regarding clutches, I'm a Mcleod fan and use them on all my builds.

You sure it's not just the overcenter spring squawking up under the panel..
Pretty sure, the noise is very pronounced if you stand out in front of the car. Not so much if your in the seat.
