Needed a couple of front tires so got my youngest son off the ipad and got him to help me put the wheels back on.
He complained at first but then actually enjoyed it. Went up to the house and told his mom "I'm a mechanic"

The few, the proud, the mechanically adept! Bet these young fellas have a conversation at school about the cool things they did.

My kids come hang out with me in the garage since they could walk. They're 2 and 3 now. They love to empty my bolt bins onto the floor. They also like to play with my tools. Of course they love to go for rides too.

It's the best annoyance in the garage a dad could ask for.

My girls have grown up with old cars. BOTH want one of their own
So be very careful what you wish for

How do you like the tires?
So far so good (only driven 30 miles on them though...).
They're Vitour Galaxy R1 - Chinese but they had a few good reviews over on A Bodies so I thought I'd give them a go. The BF Goodrich's weren't exactly stellar performers so there's not much to live up to. I wanted a 215/70 R14 and BFG's were about 3 times the price in that size.

Thanks for the heads up, tires on my Dart are aging out and I wouldn't mind some better traction.

I had all mine, learn doing
oil changes, filters, fuel & air, even doing universals
my 2 oldest girls were into 4x4s, SR5 Toyotas & Jeeps too
then doing lubes & tires rotations at a min.
I'd tell them how to do repairs & help a bit, with tight bolts etc.
but they'd change batteries & belts too...
with a lil' guidance

I'd test them too
what's that; a carb
what's that; an alternator
what's that; a distributor, cap & rotor
what's that; an exhaust manifold :blah:

My uncle Tink & Aunt Anne, may they rest in peace
had a cool shot of 'me in a drain pan' (I was a mess),
I was we lil' dude like 3-4
underneath the car out in the garage/shop on his ranch/farm
as my uncle/s was doing oil changes on his, 58 DeSoto Adventurer, hemi

In my family as a kid, we had to learn it all, basics really
my dad wasn't a great mechanic, my stepdad Bob & several uncles were
We did it, had to, just to be able to get our license/s

I figured I'd pass on that tradition, it's very helpful in later life

I need to convert some slides to digital photos
I have a few with the girls & my nephew or son
I'd like to have saved & be able to see/share with out a projector...

This guy here is a friend of mine, Liam. He and his dad chopped down a tree in their yard, and Liam decided he was going into business selling firewood to make money to buy a dirt bike. I bought some wood of course, then I had an idea. I went and picked him up in the Roadrunner, loaded up the trunk with some of his firewood and drove up to our local party store. They sell campfire wood, so I told Liam to go into the store and ask for the owner, give him a sales pitch about selling him wood, and have him come out and see the quality of his product. The store owner was so impressed that he bought all the wood Liam had for $250, on the promise that he would deliver it and stack the racks with it. He did, and got himself a dirt bike out of the deal. So, what’s the Roadrunner got to do with it? Well, the look on his face says it all, he loves the car so much, now he wants a Roadrunner of his own!
