Hey everyone I'm hoping to be able to start working on my 67 Charger in the next few weeks and I was hoping to get some help, advice and a check to make sure my plan is sound.

First the original instrument cluster and the bezel and the gauges need to be completely replaced. So first if anyone can recommend some mechanical gauges that will be good replacements it would be very much appreciated.

Second, I want to put a good stereo in it, along with heating and A/C. I also have to replace the ignition key, and as such I'm planning on pulling out the dash so I can get everything ready to be installed. So with all that can anyone tell me how I go about pulling the dash? If it's in one of the manuals and you can tell me which one it is in, and if anyone could post some pictures of what I need to be looking for to pull the dash it would also be greatly appreciated.

Would consider fixing the gauges instead of replacing them with aftermarket things (if that’s what you mean). Couple guys on here that fix them and do great work. And they’re beautiful when they’re working. And I’ve done almost everything with the dash still in. AC box is the only thing I can’t weigh in on. Just pull the seats and it’s pretty easy to get up behind it. Also, I love my retrosound radio

Hey Captain, You should consider having your gauges and cluster refurbished, it the coolest thing about these first gen Chargers. Contact Todd, he does repairs and restorations of these and does excellent work. Home - Todd's Restorations
No sure, but you may need to remove the windshield to remove the dash ?? Someone else may know about that..

Agree with Home - Todd's Restorations for the gauges, etc...and AC. Also can redo an original radio. I am currently finishing up my 67 and can give you pointers on the carpet and upholstery.

Once the windshield and column are out, there's not much left holding the dash in.
I agree with the stock gauges

I think you are asking about the instrument cluster, heater radio. If that is it, they will come out without removing the windshield. The bolts holding the dash are under the lower w/s gasket.

@CaptainAtom there are no aftermarket gauges that will ever look better than this. IMHO, the most beautiful dash that Ma Mopar ever created. Have your dash restored. Have the factory radio updated to modern bluetooth capabilities if you want a "stereo".

Watch this youtube video presented by Todd's Restorations. He shows you how to remove the dash bezel with the instruments. I have done this a few times and its gets easrier each time. Very helpful video. Also in the Service Manual, page 8-84 - Instrument Cluster removal instructions. Good luck

Agree, easy to do. Just remember to mark you wires or take pictures (or both) for reconnection. Also keep track of your screws for reinstallation.

So I appreciate the replies, and I understand wanting to refurbish the instrument cluster but the thing is I don't have the original. The long and short of it is it was stolen by the dusche bag mechanic I originally had working on it so everything has to be replaced. That's why I'm asking for a recommendation on gauges. With that being said I need to ask if I can get in behind everything from the the instrument cluster area so I can check everything out and see what's working and what isn't a long with putting in a stereo receiver and putting in A/C and heating controls. Any suggestions on the best way to do that would be greatly appreciated.

Todd can help with that. He should have what you need. FYI the tach is different for a 67.

Hey I kind of need to apologize to everyone,I asked my follow up question if just pulling the bezel will give me enough room to put in a stereo receiver and the heat and A/C controls before watching the linked video. Also after watching the video I'm pretty sure that when I first got my charger and before taking it to the thief mechanic I only removed the instrument cluster and not the complete bezel. Again I appreciate the replies. Now just for clarification, when you say Todd can help me with finding gauges are you talking about the Todd in the video or The Gauge doc?

Don't think that the gauge doc is still active... Check with Todd.. Also keep an eye on E-Bay, gauge clusters do show up from time to time.

gauge doc is still in business. I believe it’s a different guy now.

Go to this website and Todd's information is there. Home - Todd's Restorations He usually has extra gauges, bezels, etc. If he doesn't, then I may depending on what you need.

Hey much appreciated. So I'm going to need a complete bezel. Preferably one that has slots for A/C and heating controls because I'm going to put in both, along with a slot for a stereo receiver. I also am going to need the gauge lenses, and the gauges to start with. Since it doesn't look like I need to actually remove the dash I'm probably not going to try and replace the dash speaker. That's all I'm looking for to start with. Once I have all that I can go from there.

Dash speaker is easy to replace. Contact Todd and he can get you setup with all that you need. Are you redoing the upholstery and carpet?

There is a guy in Alberta that has a parts car complete with dash if you are interested. It’s Deans Dodges in Okotoks Alberta just south of Calgary. He could help you out some.
