Std Port INDY heads now MAX WEDGE size

with the RPM increase & spring pressure, I would say it's time to step up the Rocker arms.
I have 440 SOURCE roller rockers complete assemblies (105 runs on them) and they have been ROCK SOLID....no complaints...BUT...if I had it to do over again I would spend the extra money for HUGHES rockers just for peace mind.
 
Malex...Actionange has a 542 with lots of HP...

Depending on your converter, compression and cam, I think you will be quicker than you think.

I move my car back and forth between a/nss 10.00 and b/nss 10.50 indexes. I am a little heavier than you with the added weight.
I run max wedge port Indy SR heads on a 12.5 comp, 500 stroker. Modman intake, 2 600 cfm edelbrocks, comp flat tappet 615/608 280/284, 5,000 stall converter and 4.56 gear with a 29.5x10.5x15 tire.

Hi Mike. I'm wondering what RPM you are going through at. I'm curious, as I haven't been down the track yet in mine. We have similar combinations except I'm running a 31" tire and 4.10's.

In good air you should have a 9.90s combo. 10.teens or 20s in the heat

With my OLD COMBO (POSTED ON MY SIGNATURE BELOW) I WENT THRU THE TRAPS AT 6800 on a 126.5 mph good run. Hope to go thru at a little over 7k now. We will.see.Your gearing (31" with 4.10 ) is way taller than my 28" with 4.30's. I do think I could pull a taller tire now though. You should be fine. Let me know.

Thanks Mike. Sure enough, your RPMs were right there. I will let you know my results. My horsepower peaked at 6700 on the dyno, that much I know at this point.

Depends on MPH and converter slip. With a 4.10 and 31" mine goes through at 7000@148

I would think I have died and gone to HEAVEN if I went 148mph. Lol

That's another world for me.. What I'm taking away from that is that I could likely run a 6600 chip and have lots of room. :)
 
Been 151, once, in mine shaft air. We'll see Saturday. Just loaded up. No testing, going directly to my first race. Haven't been in the car since September. New brake pads, oil and trans fluid, valves lashed and of course all polished up.. How hard can it be.

I got all those things too, except the one most important thing, experience. Haha. Good luck, waiting to hear.
