Stealing electricity

Let's just stop a minute and think how stupid people really are driving a Prius. they are crammed in the little matchbox car and have been fooled by Obama idiots. the same kuckle heads who push the wind mills. I chuckle when i see these cars and the Obama bumper stickers. many a day id like to bump intot hese cars with my pick up truck. He he

For me I can see the average benefit of owning one, but for those who own one for a cause. Please don't bother
me, I will not be pleasent towards you. I love my car, and prefer to drive the vehicle I do. So to all those hippies out there you will not gain any followers from me by getting into an argument about your *** ugly car

I've scoped out every gas station that sells ethanol-free gas within 50 miles and every gas station between my house and my mother's house 2 hours away. It seems like in Texas, you should have lots of them, like we do in Georgia and South Carolina.
Nope...not in the Houston and the surrounding areas.....damn ethanol crap everywhere around here.....

I work for our county school and that is nothing compared to all the teachers having refrigerators and microwaves in their classrooms for personal use. Whats that cost tax payers? I also see students charging phones in class most everyday.

I wouldn't buy one either, not my cup'o'tea. However, where I live it seems like a lot of taxi companies use the Prius. I've been in them, plenty of head and leg room. I asked different drivers about them, they just love the cars because they are completely reliable. Low running costs, not just gas. One guy told me that the regenerative braking gives him 200,000 miles on brake pads. They also like the Crown Victoria, reliable but they cost too much to run. Cars like the Impala are in the shop every week.

Around here, the majority of taxis are either Dodge Minivans or the Prius, chosen by the guys who make money out of them.

If you think about it, people using cooking oil instead of diesel or making their own biodiesel are not paying the fuel taxes that help maintain our roads.
Have you seen the condition of our roads? I don't think fuel taxes are paying to maintain much!!!

At first, I thought this was frivolous, but stealing is stealing. Besides, these people with electric cars are getting a free ride with their tax payer subsidized vehicle and by not paying their fare share in road tax.

Does the government not subsidize oil companies as well, through grants & tax breaks for exploration etc?

Ya know, I don't mind the gooberment handing out grants etc to companies that help the economy by employing thousands of people. Not sure what % Exxon made per dollar this year but I remember when they made record profits a few years back, everyone was up in arms....and they made something like 10% profit...and iirc Pfizer made something like 60% on the dollar that same year and no one said a damn word.

Schools pay for power in blocks, so they don't pay for power per kilowatt hour like household power. Teachers using microwaves or refrigerators, or students charging phones, likely doesn't effect a school district's energy contract. As lowly paid as teachers are, is it really killing anyone to enjoy a small benefit like a personal fridge or microwave?

Thief is a thief, even if he drives a EV Nissan Leaf...LOL...

And what percent of profit is Exxon etc making offshore? Probably Pfizer as well. The point is, you cannot complain about one company/industry getting a break and saying it's OK for another. It doesn't matter one bit how much money they made.

Simply, you are against industry getting handouts, or you are for it. You cannot have it both ways.

Common sense is less and less common these days

Prius??? Why the hell would anyone want to drive a car that cannot do a third gear burnout???? :angryfire:

Or first gear. The best burnout a Prius could muster would be to throw a lit propane torch in the front seat after soaking the carpet with gasoline.
