Stock pistons used in a overbore?

Years ago an old guy I knew took a center punch to the skirts. Don’t know how much slop there was, but it did run afterwards. I thought it would scratch the puss outta the bores. Kim

I did Demo Derby for 20 years. No radiator, rod for shifter. I built my own steering column, slip driveshaft with Imperial CV ends. A sloppy 383 I ran in 67 heats till broke mounting ears of block

You used some good tweeks. When the mounting ears break off the block you place a 1/4" plate between the block and the oil pan. All the oil pan bolts go through the 1/4" plate and the plate gets welded to the k-member.

I thought about doing something like that, but they didn't allow welding to frame. This was in the early 90s they really didn't like me much anyhow. 74 dodges and Plymouths weren't suppose to beat GM rollbacks. That old 383 would really run a lot of blow by but would always start hot. Now days they build engine cradles and lots of welding.
