Submarine on expedition to Titanic wreck goes missing, "search and rescue operation" underway

Looks like it must have imploded. If that's the case, their deaths were instant, rather than dragged out for days.

The risks were high, but so is riding dirt bikes in Telluride, Colorado. One wrong move and you're done. I talked to my son about the risks and he told me that taking risks is a part of life and living your life fully. The trick on riding these passes is to never look over the edge because that's where you'll end up.

There are lots of videos of Engineer's Pass if you care to watch them.

I cut off the first two hours. On a dirt bike, you're going 3X-4X times faster than this.

One kid we were with had an amputated lower leg and had one of those leaf spring things. He was always showing off. He did a wheelie on his four-wheeler in this area. It came down wrong and he luckily bailed off in time. That four-wheeler fell and rolled at least 1,000 feet. I was behind him. I had time to stop, put down my kickstand, and run up to him. By the time I got there, the four-wheeler was still falling.

I hope those people died quickly. I just feel bad for the boy.

This is kind of morbid but I wish a model company made a kit of the Titanic as it is now.

I nailed it….what do I win? Lol! Sad, 5 souls lost!

I bet there won’t be anymore people headed down to the Titanic.

Charge the families for the cost of searching. I pay enough taxes already.

This whole story is just a crosscut of the times.
Some know it all billionaire that actually knows nothing throws money at some whim of his.
Because current day reasons, he uses diversity hires to build it.
How "inspirational."
Vessel turns out about how you would expect a bunch of "diverse" modern day college kids would design something.

Meanwhile, the first description I read of the actual vessel had giant red flags all over it, and I can't swim, know only basic things about diving(pressures for instance) and while the great lakes- especially Superior- are nothing to take lightly, it is not diving 400 atmospheres into the ocean!

Really, seriously: if someone had laid out all the details of this project and how it was being built and managed before all this happened middle school kids could have predicted the outcome.
Money and knowledge are certainly not tied together, and this incident further reinforces that money and intelligence aren't either. Just because you have lots of money doesn't mean you know F all about anything, or are even capable of learning something about anything. It just means you have a lot of money.

Lol, yeah for a $250,000 ride ya'd think the 60 buck controller wouldn't be unreasonable.
But how often do you think that the 'Replay' button would be needed?

Sorry, no replay in this game.... Might call Doc Brown.... But 88MPH underwater is tougher to achieve....

RIP to the crew... And don't forget to feed the fish....

Implosion was heard/tracked as soon as it happened: sensors in the sea: Refer to Scorpion & Thresher sinkings in the 60s & Kursks a decade ago. (Fellow Bubleheads & Surface Sonar techs KNOW what systems I'm refering to!!) Got media & people all worked up over the week as a distraction, AS USUAL!!

yeah terrible bad deal , but they should have used better judgement .
not that I have used good judgement all my life , no way in hel I`d go 2.4 miles down in that contraption . Besides there are very good pics of the whole thing from previous unmanned vehicles .
did they think they would find something else out ??
