Just had the same problem on the 96 van on the uppers yesterday. Second set in 204,000 miles. I new it would be a problem after trying to get the old ones out and seeing the thread material from the control arm. I just had to tack em in. I'm not planning to keep it long enough to replace them again so knock on wood I won't have to worry about replacing control arms in the future, it will be junk by the time I get rid of it. I had no problems with the satty when I did those 4 years ago.
