I have a factory manual sun roof 74 RR. I currently am fixing the sunroof as it wasn’t working when I purchased the car. Turns out it was missing the gear, which I replaced. The sunroof never completely set level with the roofline when completely closed. It seals fine and does not leak, but it is dropped down a little bit in the back. Is this normal or is it supposed to be completely flush with the roof line when closed. I know it has to drop to open, but if I remember correctly, back in the day, the first 1/4 turn or so of the crank handle dropped the sunroof when opening and raised it when closed. Maybe that’s not necessarily the case with this car, but I remember it on my dad’s 2002 BMW it worked that way. Does anyone have pictures of their sunroof? It’s hard to see in this picture but it’s noticeably not flush in the back. The back is to the right.

On my 1974 Charger SE the sunroof sat flush with the roof when closed. There are adjustments in the 1974 Body manual

Definitely get the chassis service manual it is online it shows all the adjustment. Been working on my 72 for 37 years

I believe the sunroof info was an insert to the FSM, at least for one year.

I think it's posted on FBBO.
