Not long ago , Sunpro had a retro Sun sst802R. It looked like the old Sun Super tach of the 70's. I have searched everywhere I know of ( not much)to buy one of these tachs. Amazon says they are no longer available there. It would look great on my 64 Dodge nostalgia street and strip build. Can someone give me some info? Thanks................................MO

Yup, thats the one you have pictured . The other link is for a Sun super tach II which is different than the repo. I have one of those.........Thanks for the reply............................MO

Correct me if I am wrong but I think Sun got bought out by Bosch. They still make the retro tacs minus the sun logos, which IMHO sucks.

I have two early style, one is on my 63, and one of the later blue line adjustable on my 69 Road Runner and they will be pulled off the cars if I ever sell them...I love them!

Edit: loved how auto correct turned tacs into tacos on me...

Actually, Actron corp. bought the Sun name in 1988. They started producing them in China. Bosch recently bought Actron. I'm not sure if they bought the entire company or just the gauge side.
If you have a "real" Sun tach, hang on to it. They were made in the good old USA and for the most part are worth more than what they sold for back in the day. I still have a Sun tach I bought in 1967. I have it in a vehicle and it works great.

I got the repro SuperTach in my car. I also have an original from way back when, with the control box. I got the repro cause it doesn't need the box.

Well, that is interesting , I am sure the Sunpro had the logo at the bottom of the face. Maybe Sunpro is making tachs available to Bosch?........................MO

The newer ones without the box are on e-bay often. A nice one is big bucks...........MO

No offense taken. :glasses10:
360....I just don't push it. I really think it could do with some go-faster goodies, or at least some investigation. I've never had a small block before, so I didn't know what to expect. It runs and idles fine, starts OK, but does seem to lack a fire in it's belly. :icon_mrgreen:

Skip to 3:20 to see what it does easily at around 2,500 RPM :3gears::3gears::3gears::3gears:
